Executive Team

LearningStation’s Executive Team is comprised of professionals from the education, technology, operations, sales, services and marketing industries who all share a desire to support engaged teaching and learning in schools.

Jim Kirchner – Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer

Jim Kirchner co-founded the company in 1997. As a seasoned technology executive and successful entrepreneur, Mr. Kirchner brings leadership and vision to the team. Tactically, he has helped establish many core customers of LearningStation, has developed channel and vendor relationships and manages the growth and development of the company’s sales, operations, support, finance and administration teams. Strategically, Mr. Kirchner serves the stakeholders of LearningStation by providing vision, developing strategic initiatives, developing strategic partnerships and managing the company’s corporate assets.

Prior to starting LearningStation, Mr. Kirchner had a distinguished military career as a Captain in the United States Marine Corp, where he received two Navy Commendation Medals and a Navy Achievement Medal. He is most noted in awards for his stellar leadership and significant contributions to upgrading of USMC deployment and logistics management systems. Upon leaving the USMC, Mr. Kirchner worked as a sales manager at Osprey Systems and general manager for Sonata Systems, a spin-off of Osprey Systems. In 1996 Mr. Kirchner, co-founded Computer Network Power (CNP), a successful local and wide area network installation and support integrator.

Mr. Kirchner graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelors of science degree in economics.

Steve Kirchner – Vice President of Services

Steve Kirchner is responsible for customer support and training for LearningStation users. Prior to joining Learningstation in 1999, Mr. Kirchner was a member of the elite Joint Command Communications Forces, US Joint Chiefs of Staff. His duties were to plan and engineer all communications equipment required for 20 major real time missions. Equipment included satellite equipment, voice and data systems. Each deployment supported 500+ end users. He supervised more than fifty personnel during each of these deployments, which included both Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Steve also served tours in Germany, England, Korea and other locations in the Middle East. Mr. Kirchner retired after 22 years of honorable service to his country.

Bart Temperville – Treasurer, Director of Finance and Administration

Bart Temperville is responsible for accounting and human resources within LearningStation. Prior to joining the LearningStation team, Bart was financial controller at Murata Automated Systems and accounting manager at Software Express, an educational software reseller. Mr. Temperville holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Gardner-Web University (1991) and is an active member at the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).
