I Support Learning and LearningStation Partner to Provide Schools with Online Personal Experience Curriculum
LearningStation will leverage online capabilities as exclusive online provider of I Support Learning curriculum
Kansas City, Kans. — January 22, 2007 — I Support Learning (ISL), the premier developer of personal experience curriculum, have formed a new strategic partnership with LearningStation in which LearningStation will be the exclusive online provider of the I Support Learning curriculum. Together, the two companies will deliver the first online-delivered personal experience curriculum, engaging students through virtual learning with topics like Cartoon Animation and Web Game Design.
LearningStation has spent 10 years supporting schools’ goals for instruction and assessment with a variety of online solutions, from interactive learning software to fully customized web portals.
The personal experience curriculum developed by ISL places students into an environment where they become “virtual interns” with a high-tech company. The students meet with bosses, customers and co-workers and receive important emails, voicemails and video messages necessary to complete their real world projects.
“Today’s digital learner needs the same level of interactivity in the classroom that they get at home,” says Steve Waddell, owner and lead developer of I Support Learning. “We take their passions and interests and use that to teach them skills that go beyond technology and into math, science, language and life skills. They want their learning to be relevant and that’s what we deliver.”
“This partnership furthers our efforts to provide rich opportunities for authentic, engaging learning that is easy for schools to implement,” said LearningStation CEO Jim Kirchner. “We see tremendous promise in the pairing of I Support Learning’s virtual learning curriculum and LearningStation’s Education Desktop for today’s digital learners.”
The two companies will be exhibiting this week at the Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC) in Orlando, Fla. Through the end of February 2007, a special introductory offer provides schools a discounted price on an Online Virtual Learning Suite that bundles the ISL curriculum with LearningStation’s Education Desktop, Education Backpack and Discussion Forum solutions.
