P.E.T. Professional Development Program

The P.E.T. Professional Development Program focuses on enhancing teachers’ professional experience by providing them with knowledge of their unique teaching and learning style. This vital self-awareness supports them on the journey to an authentic teaching and learning environment.

This program strives to accomplish the following:

  • Support teachers’ instructional skill and enable them to facilitate student learning with new teaching strategies
  • Make the teacher workload more manageable, thereby enriching the teaching and learning experience for teachers and students
  • Enable teachers to connect more easily with students so they can align their teaching style with different student learning styles
  • Empower teachers personally in dealing with stress, conflict resolution, communication and teamwork

“How has P.E.T. impacted my teaching? In a number of ways. First, by being aware of differences in how my students learn, I find it is much easier to create activities that allow everyone to have success. I now create assignments and projects that are presented in a variety of ways and can be completed in myriad formats. By being aware of differences in how my students learn, I find it is much easier to create activities that allow everyone to have success.”
- Wayne Lincoln, High School Teacher
